Following the ongoing election petition filed by Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, the party has accused the All Progressive Congress of stealing the mandate.

Recall that the president, Muhammadu Buhari said that the opposition lost the election because of overconfidence. However, the Labour Party reacted that APC stole the mandate.

Days ago, in a statement signed by the president’s media aide, Garba Shehu, Buhari stated;

“Overconfident, complacency and bad tactical moves created problems for opposition in the election.”

The comment didn’t go down well with the opposition parties. The Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP is calling on the International Community to impose a travel ban on President, Muhammadu Buhari and his family members.

Obiorah Ifoh, the LP National secretary stated that the APC presidential candidate, now the president-elect, Bola Tinubu did not win the election. He said that the president was completely wrong to say opposition parties lost because of overconfidence.

Obiorah alleged that the election was rigged, and manipulated beyond comprehension.

The statement reads: “The Labour Party is very worried and disturbed with the statement from the office of the President wherein he said that the opposition parties lost the 2023 presidential election because of their overconfidence, complacency and bad tactical moves, and which he claimed created more problems for them.”
