• Say the adoption is to disabuse the minds of those expecting another PDP candidate from any court process

•Insist no party, candidate can beat PDP in Delta

A Socio-Political Group, the Delta Youth Political Alliance, DYPA, on Friday unveiled and adopted Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O Oborevwori as the sole governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state. The body added that there is no political party and candidate that can beat PDP and its governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections in the state.

The group equally adopted Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as PDP presidential and vice presidential candidates during the unveiling of the Delta state governorship candidate.

Another adopted as the group’s sole candidate in the next year’s general election was, Evang. Michael Diden, alias Ejele, PDP Delta South senatorial candidate, Rt.Hon.Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu federal constituency, and PDP candidate for House of reps, Hon. Asupa Forteta, as PDP candidate for Delta State House of Assembly, Burutu North, Jite brown as PDP Delta State House of Assembly candidate, Udu constituency, and Hon. Peres Oloye, PDP Candidate Delta State House of Assembly, Burutu South.

While addressing participants, the group’s co-coordinator Amb. Comrade Ozobo Austin and Comrade Ellington Ebakumo said the adoption was to disabuse the mind of those expecting another PDP governorship candidate from any court process, adding that aggrieved members of the party should retrace their steps and work for the victory of the party come 2023.

Speaking further, the duo explained that the adoption was to reaffirm the Delta youth’s unalloyed support for Oborovweri’s governorship race.

The group’s leaders also noted that the decision was to officially inform the general public that every disagreement in the party had ended and that there was no more faction in the party.

The group maintained that Sheriff Oborevwori had what it takes to govern Delta State when elected come 2023, stating that Deltans should come out en mass to vote for PDP candidates at the polls.

They stressed that the essence of the alliance was that no single senatorial district can produce the governor of the state, stating that the coalition was to garner support for the Delta central and for PDP to produce the next governor of the state.

The event which was held in Udu Road, Orhuwhorun town hall, in Udu Local Government Area was described as the first of its kind as it was colourful and well attended by youths of the three senatorial districts of the state.

However, the group urged Deltans to vote for all PDP candidates in the next year’s general election.
