2023: Ex-militants throw weight behind Omo-Agege governorship ambition in Delta

A group under the auspices of Progressive N/Delta Ex-agitators Forum has thrown its weight behind His Excellency, Distinguished Senator, Ovie Omo-Agege, the Deputy President of the Senate to win the governorship election of Delta state come March 2023.

The group disclosed this during a meeting with the Senior Legislative Aide to the Deputy President of the Senate, Pastor (Comrade) Egedegbe Edewor on Tuesday in Warri.

The group which was led by Gen. Victor Maika, the Ogumene1 of Niger Delta (Kemekoruo Camp) said PDP had failed the people of Delta state in her over 23 years of governance, adding that efforts must be made to end PDP reign in Delta state come 2023.

The statement read: “We the members of the Progressive Niger Delta Ex-agitators Forum, comprising of seven (7) Ex- Militant groups with over One Thousand (1000) members has made up our minds to deliver Most Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the Delta State Governorship Candidate of APC come march 2023.

“We need a change, PDP has rule Delta state for many years but there’s no development and industry to employ the teeming youths of the state. Especially the Ijaw area. We are disappointed that after we have suffered to deliver PDP in successive governorship elections, from 1999 till date, we were left with no applaud than underdevelopment. We will not support PDP again. With our blood and soul, we have rejected PDP in Delta state, no amount of persuasion, blackmail and intimidation can change our minds, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege is the answer Deltans have been waiting.

“In respective of party, we see Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege as a selfless leader who can govern our dear state to a level of advance transformation and development. We have seen his works as a Senator and Deputy President of the Senate, NASS, ABUJA. He will do better as governor with executive powers and more resources for development and good livelihood support system given his pedigree.”

However, the chairman of the Forum Gen. Victor Maika had called on Deltans to put all efforts to deliver Distinguished Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege in the 2023 governorship election for the betterment of our dear state.

He enjoined the DSP Aide to urgently communicate their resolve to support Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege dream of becoming a governor in Delta state. They however, asked for an early date to make their public declaration with their teaming supporters across board in the coming days ahead of Campaigns.
