2027: Aroni Throws Weight Behind Oborevwori’s Re-election Bid, Commends Developmental Strides

Prominent Delta All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain and political leader, Chief Hon. Aaron Oputu, alias general Aroni, has declared support for the re-election bid of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Aroni, who is the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Security made the declaration in a statement on Tuesday, said Governor Oborevwori has demonstrated capacity, inclusiveness, and commitment to development across the three senatorial districts of the state.

He further commended the governor for what he described as “unprecedented developmental strides” since assuming office in 2023.

“The M.O.R.E Agenda of Governor Oborevwori and that of Renew Hope Agenda of Mr president are working. From road infrastructure to human capital development, health, and education, Deltans are feeling the impact,” Aroni said.

Aroni noted that the governor’s inclusive governance and massive projects, have bridged the gap of marginalization that existed in previous administrations.

“For the first time in a long while, we are seeing a governor who has the people at heart. Whether you are in Delta North, Delta Central, or Delta South, you can point to one or two projects. That is leadership,” he added.

Chief Aroni, a respected APC leader from Delta South, stated that partisan politics should be set aside for now to allow the governor to consolidate his achievements.

“2027 is still some months away, but early support matters. As an APC member, I believe in issue-based politics. Today, the issues point to one man: Sheriff Oborevwori. He should be allowed to complete the good work he has started,” Aroni declared.
