2027: Mulade Declares for Warri Federal Constituency Under NDP, Pledges Quality Representation, Unity, Development

Joy enveloped the atmosphere of Warri as the National Democratic Party (NDP) candidate for Warri Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, Chief (Comrade) Mulade Blessing Sheriff, PhD, formally declared to run for the house of representatives seat, pledging quality representation to promote peace, unity and development among the Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo people of the constituency when elected come 2027.

Mulade, who is the Ibe-Sorimowei of Ancient Oil-rich Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, made the commitment during a special August gathering in Warri, the headquarters of Warri Federal Constituency, while declaring his intention to represent his people in the house of representatives.

He expressed appreciation to the people of Ijaw, Itsekiri, Urhobo and other residents of the constituency for honouring his invitation, describing their presence as a demonstration of their commitment to the progress of the area.

The NDP candidate said his ambition was driven by the need to bridge the development gap in the constituency through constructive advocacy, inclusive representation and meaningful engagement with stakeholders.

He said, if elected in 2027, he would ensure that the voice of Warri Federal Constituency was effectively heard at the National Assembly, while attracting federal attention and development initiatives capable of creating employment and empowerment opportunities for youths and women.

According to him, the constituency has contributed significantly to Nigeria’s economic development through its vast natural resources but has not received commensurate federal attention and meaningful development.

“If elected in 2027 into the House of Representatives, Warri City and its environs would be given the deserved special attention through constructive advocacy and engagement with all relevant stakeholders. As the voice for the voiceless, I assure you that the voice of Warri people will be heard constructively,” he said.

Mulade also promised to collaborate with the local, state and federal governments towards the resuscitation of the Burutu, Warri, Koko and Sapele seaports, as well as the Warri Industrial Park.

He further pledged to promote agriculture, fisheries and skills acquisition programmes as part of measures to empower youths and women and reduce unemployment across the constituency.

The NDP candidate stressed that his political ambition was not about participating in a “political funfair,” but about providing solutions to the challenges confronting the people.

“I am not here for a political funfair to stand in the gap, but I am here to close the gap through constructive advocacy and an inclusive approach. I am not an emulator, neither am I a copyright candidate,” he stated.

He appealed to the Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo people to rise above ethnic divisions and embrace peace, unity and cooperation, stressing that continued conflict and mutual suspicion would only hinder development.

“We cannot continue to fight ourselves, we cannot continue to deprive ourselves, and we cannot continue to malign ourselves. Now is the time for us to rise above the confines of our individualistic and ethnic considerations to build a broader relationship based on trust, peace and unity across Warri Federal Constituency for development,” he said.

Mulade described himself as a critical stakeholder committed to people-oriented and inclusive representation, promising to focus on deepening unity, peace, progress and development in Warri Federal Constituency and Delta State at large.

He urged residents and supporters to view the 2027 election as an opportunity to choose a representative based on capacity, competence and ability to deliver tangible development to the constituency.
