36-year-old man rapes 17yrs girl to death

Mr Bako Anjeh, a 36 years old man was arrested by Nassarawa state police command for sexually harassing a 17-year-old girl to death in Eggon, Nassarawa Local Government Area of the state.
The accused allegedly compelled the victim to drink pramoxine (a chemical used in killing grasses) in a bid to make her unconscious before he had sexual intercourse with her.
ASP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command disclosed the incident to newsmen in Lafia on Sunday.
According to the PPRO, the victim’s father, Mr Dimka Sarki complained about his daughter’s defilement by the suspect who hailed from Angam village, Akin Development Area of Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area, adding that the police officers of the Nassarawa police command traced and tracked down the suspect and arrested him following the complaint made by the victim’s father.
“When she refused, he forcefully gave her a gramophone, a chemical substance used in killing grasses to drink which made her weak then, he proceeded and had carnal knowledge of her.
“Upon receipt of the complaint, the policemen attached to Akwanga Area Command swiftly moved to the scene and got the suspect arrested.
“The victim was taken to Ola hospital in Akwanga LGA for medical treatment where her statements were taken before she later died at the same hospital and the corpse was deposited there for post mortem examination.”
The PPRO stressed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi, had instructed that the accused be charged to court for prosecution upon conclusion of investigations at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia.
