Banditry: Kidnapped Abuja varsity lecturer escapes from abductors

Veritas University, Abuja, the Head of Department, History and International Relations, D. John Adole who was kidnapped in Benue State has regained his freedom.

D. John Adole was abducted by gunmen in Otukpo, Otukpo Local Government Area on Sunday, 1st of May.

It was confirmed that three other persons, including a professor from the Benue State University, Makurdi, were said to have escaped from the abductors during the attack on Monday, May 2.

The Veritas University, Spokesperson, Mrs Evelyn Obekpa confirmed the development on Tuesday, May 3.

According to the Vice Chancellor, Veritas University Abuja, Dr John Adole, Head, Department of History and International Relations, the lecturer escaped from his adductors on Monday, May 2.

It was gathered by the Vice Chancellor, Veritas University Abuja, on Monday evening, who spoke with Dr Adole’s wife and family on Monday.

When asked if the ransom was paid to secure his release, she said, Dr Adole escaped from the abductors.
