About five persons have been killed in a bloody cult lash in Ogwashi Ukwu community in Aniocha South Local Government area of Delta State.

The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday where about five persons suspected to be members of various cult groups were killed in separate attacks in the community.

A close source said the clash was between members of the Aye confraternity and Rubagger cult groups who have been engulfed in supremacy war in the community.

The source gave one of the victims as Eze who was gun down along St Patrick road at about 7.30 pm at Wednesday’s night.

It was gathered that the cultists trailed him to a nearby spot where he was shot in a close range, but when the assailants found out that the bullet could not penetrate, they used stick to hit him to death.

The Delta state PPRO, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident to newsmen on Thursday April 14.

According to him, there was no open confrontation between the two cult groups, narrating that the attackers monitored their victims on the streets.

“What they do is that they monitor their targets on the street. There hasn’t been any open attack, this makes it even much more difficult to get these bad elements.”

The police spokesman stated that the police were on top of the situation, noting that all who were involved in the dastardly act would not be left untouched.
