9 Local Refineries of 1m/Bpd Production Capacity Uncovered in Bayelsa

Following the ongoing war against crude oil theft and illegal refineries in the Niger Delta region, not less than nine illegal refineries have been uncovered.

It was gathered that the daily production at the illegal refineries was estimated to be more than a million barrels in three communities in Bayelsa state.

The illegal refineries were discovered by one of the Federal Government pipeline security contractors in the Niger Delta, Daven Oil and Security Enterprise, in collaboration with the Joint Task Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps.

The uncovered illegal refineries were known as Kpofire in Okodia / Zarama / Biseni in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa state.

The discovery was due to an operation carried out by the operatives aimed at eradicating the oil region of illegal oil theft.
