Following the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, the United Kingdom government has pledged support for Ukraine.
On Monday, May 15, Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Britain to meet Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister.
Rishi Sunak promised Zelensky hundreds of air defence Missiles and long-range attack drones to defend against Russia’s invasion.
Britain’s support for Ukraine came after he secured promises of military aid from France and Germany ahead of a widely expected counter-war against Russia.
In a tweet by Zelensky, he stated that the UK is a leader when it comes to expanding capabilities on the ground and in the air.
However, Sunak noted that this is a crucial moment in Ukraine’s resistance to a terrible war of aggression they didn’t choose or provoke.
Sunak stressed that the United Kingdom will not let Ukrainians down.
He added that Russian President, Vladimir Putin’s war of aggression may be in Ukraine, but the fault lines stretch all over the world.
Sunak maintained that part of his support to help Ukraine is new sets of long-range attack drones with a range of over 200km ( 125 miles ).
He said that the equipment will be delivered to Ukraine in the next coming months as Ukraine is set to intensify its resistance to the ongoing Russian invasion.
