Two Kuje Escapees Nabbed In Adamawa By Police

Two inmates identified as Atiku Ibrahim and Adamu Ibrahim who were among those who escaped from Kuje correctional in the year 2022 have been nabbed by the Adamawa police command.

This development was confirmed by the command spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, in a statement released on Monday, May 22, 2023.

Suleiman stated that the two escapees, Atiku Ibrahim, aged 37 and Adamu Ibrahim, aged 40, were apprehended by Police Crack Squad on May 19, 2023.

The duo confessed during interrogation to have been an inmate in Kuje correctional facility since 2021, after an allegation of arms dealing against them.

However, they affirmed that they are awaiting trial in Kuje correctional centre, in a case of arms dealing and unlawful possession of firearms.

Following their arrest, the Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola directed the escapees to be handed over to the Nigeria Nigeria Correctional Center, Adamawa state.
