Soldier arrested over killing of protester in Kaduna

The Nigerian Army has confirmed the arrest of one of its personnel who shot and killed a 16-year-old boy during an ongoing protest against bad governance in Kaduna State.

The incident occurred when the troops of the Nigerian army were sent to disperse protesters in the Samaru community in Zaria.

The security operatives were enforcing a curfew imposed by the Kaduna State Government.

The Nigerian Army spokesperson stated that the soldier responsible for the incident has been arrested and is currently undergoing interrogation.
