Birnin Gwari: A Renewed Dawn for Peace and Prosperity

The Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressives Union (BEPU) has commended President Bola Tinubu for his efforts in restoring peace and development to the area.
In a statement by Dr, Isah Muhammad Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union.
According to BEPU, the scourge of banditry has been curtailed by no less than 95% since November 2024, with no killings or kidnappings recorded in Birnin Gwari.
The union noted that thousands of farmers have returned to their fields in 2025, marking an unprecedented phenomenon in modern history.
“Federal highways traversing Birnin Gwari are now safe for travel, and grain markets have surged back to life. The livestock trade, which was shuttered for over eight years, has also resumed robustly.
BEPU expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his commitment to restoring peace and development to Birnin Gwari. During an official visit to Kaduna State, President Tinubu declared that the Federal Executive Council has approved the reconstruction and rehabilitation of three critical highways: Kaduna to Birnin Gwari, Birnin Gwari to Funtua, and Birnin Gwari to Tegina to Mokwa.
The union also commended Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State for his relentless pursuit of peace and development in Birnin Gwari.
The governor’s planned establishment of a modern livestock market and abattoir is a welcome intervention. BEPU urged the contractor handling the Birnin Gwari-Randagi road to uphold the highest standards of quality and integrity.
BEPU renewed its plea to the Federal Government to consider establishing a Federal University of Minerals and Forest Resources in Birnin Gwari. The area is blessed with rare and commercially valuable mineral deposits, including gold varieties not found elsewhere on earth, and vast forest reserves.
The union expressed condolences to the people of Benue State, where recent violence has claimed hundreds of lives, and to the people of Mokwa in Niger State, where devastating floods have tragically claimed many lives.
BEPU condemned illegal activities taking place within Kamuku National Park, including unlawful logging, illegal mining, and poaching. The union commended the Ministry of Environment and the management of Kamuku National Park for their vigilance and encouraged them to maintain strict oversight.
