Inec declares Zamfara assembly by elections inconclusive

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Zamfara State House of Assembly by-elections inconclusive. According to the electoral body, the polls held over the weekend could not produce a clear winner due to irregularities and disruptions recorded in some polling units.

INEC explained that the affected areas will undergo supplementary elections to ensure that the process is credible and that the votes of the people truly count. The commission added that details of the rerun will be made public soon, urging political parties, candidates, and voters to remain calm and law-abiding while preparations are concluded.
