Ex-AGF Malami’s Convoy Attacked by Suspected Thugs in Kebbi

By Diafa Doubra,
The convoy of former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, came under attack on Monday in Kebbi State. The incident occurred while Malami was returning from a condolence visit in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers, believed to be political thugs, pelted vehicles with stones and other objects, causing panic among his aides and supporters. Although no deaths were recorded, some vehicles were reportedly damaged, and a few people sustained injuries during the chaos.
The motive behind the attack has not been confirmed, but sources suggest it may be linked to local political tensions in Kebbi, where Malami remains a strong political figure. Security operatives in his convoy quickly dispersed the assailants and escorted him safely out of the area.
The Kebbi State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement on the matter, but investigations are expected to begin immediately to identify those behind the attack.
