Troops Neutralise Eight ISWAP Terrorists, Recover Motorcycles in Borno

By Diafa Doubra,
Nigerian troops have recorded another major success in the ongoing fight against insurgency, neutralising eight fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno State.
According to military sources, the operation took place during a clearance mission in a remote part of the state, where the terrorists were attempting to regroup. The troops engaged them in a heavy exchange of fire, killing eight on the spot and forcing others to flee.
Several motorcycles and arms were also recovered from the terrorists’ hideout, disrupting their movement and supply chain in the area.
The Army described the operation as part of ongoing efforts to weaken ISWAP’s capacity and restore lasting peace to the North-East. Communities in the region have welcomed the development, expressing hope that it will further reduce attacks and kidnappings in the area.
