Tears As Bishop Charles Ikpaka Amabiye Dies

The founder and general overseer of New Jerusalem City Zion, Amatu II Community, Ekeremor Local Government Area, Bayelsa State Bishop Prt. Charles Ikpaka Amabiye, has passed away.

This was contained in an official statement signed on behalf of the family by Engr. Samson Charles Ikpaka which a copy was sent to Congress correspondent on Monday.

Congress gathered that Bishop Amabiye, a respected clergyman, father, grandfather, and community leader, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

According to the statement, “Known for his life of faith, service, and leadership, he established the New Jerusalem City Zion in Amatu II and was widely regarded as a spiritual father and mentor to many within and beyond the community”.

According to the family, details of the burial arrangements would be announced later.
