Delta Police Celebrate 2025 Customer Service Week with Community Outreach Across the State

By Diafa Doubra,
The Delta State Police Command has joined the rest of the world in celebrating the 2025 Customer Service Week, themed “Mission Possible.” The event, which held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, saw officers of the command engage various communities across the state in a series of outreach activities aimed at strengthening police–community relations.
As part of the celebration, the Command reached out to residents in different parts of the state including Warri, Ughelli, Sapele, and Asaba where police officers interacted with road users, market women, parents, and youths. Souvenirs, books, and other gift items were presented to them as a token of appreciation for their continued support in the fight against crime. Primary and secondary school students also benefited from the gesture.
Speaking on the significance of the event, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, said the outreach was part of a “non-kinetic approach to crime fighting” that focuses on building trust and collaboration with members of the public. He emphasized that the police view Deltans as partners and by extension, customers in the joint effort to ensure a safer and more peaceful society.
Abaniwonda noted that the initiative would be sustained to bridge the communication gap between the police and the communities they serve. He commended residents of Delta State for their cooperation and vigilance, which have contributed greatly to the Command’s numerous successes in curbing criminal activities.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, who coordinated the event, also appreciated the people of Delta for their unwavering support. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to effective service delivery and its dedication to protecting lives and property while maintaining a friendly relationship with the public.
The 2025 Customer Service Week celebration by the Delta State Police Command reflects the growing emphasis on people-oriented policing and underscores the belief that strong community partnerships remain vital to achieving lasting peace and security.
