The National Chairman of the Phase 3 Amnesty Program, Gen. Godstime Ogidigba, has issued a stern warning to leaders, stakeholders, groups and individuals in Niger Delta region, cautioning them against engaging in character assassination and propaganda against the MD, Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr Samuel Ogbuku.

In a statement, Gen. Ogidigba urged leaders in the region to emulate the leadership style of High Chief Government Oweizide Tompolo, who had been instrumental in maintaining peace, security, creating jobs, empowering youth and women, and attracting development to the Niger Delta region.

The ex-agitators leader further advised against politicizing issues and urged leaders to focus on promoting peace, development, and progress in the Niger Delta region. He emphasised that the region needs leaders who will work towards the betterment of the people, rather than engaging in petty squabbles and propaganda.

He further stated that Dr Ogbuku was doing his best to transform Niger Delta region through the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, added that he deserved commendation and backlash.

Ogidigba strongly condemned reports alleging that Dr Ogbuku was arrested by the military, a plot he described was orchestrated by enemies to implicate him with the alleged coup plot.

He maintained that the region needs peace and development, not character assassination and mudslinging, warning those he described as sponsors of propaganda to steer clear and that the Dr Ogbuku needs the support of every well meaning Niger Deltan to attract development to the region.
