Ex-Niger Delta Agitators Forum for ADC, Endorses Atiku/Amechi, Vows Grassroots Campaign Ahead of 2027

The Ex-Niger Delta Agitators Forum for ADC has congratulated Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi on his nomination as running mate to the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, described it as a recognition of the South-South’s importance to national peace and economic progress.

The Forum, which said it comprises Phase 1, 2, and 3 ex-agitators across the South-South zone, announced its position at an emergency key leadership meeting held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, in Bomadi Town, Delta State. The meeting was chaired by National Chairman, Gen. Ojuemi Oweikeme, and focused on the country’s economy, insecurity, and infrastructure challenges.

In a statement signed by the National president Gen. Oweikeme, National Secretary Gen. Ebikefe Freedom, and National Spokesperson Comrade Daniel Ezekiel Perela, the group thanked Atiku Abubakar and the ADC National Working Committee, under Senator David Mark, for nominating “our leader, brother and illustrious son of our region.”

“This selection is a pass mark and confidence in the capacity, sagacity, networking and resourcefulness of our brother,” the Forum stated.

It said the announcement sparked celebrations “from Bonny Island in Rivers to Warri City, Uyo in Akwa Ibom, Calabar in Cross River, Arogbo in Ondo State, up to Ring Road in Benin City, Edo State,” describing it as “an eruption of uncontrollable dance, singing, and joy.”

The Forum said the government of President Bola Tinubu “is a calamitous failure” and argued that “it will be a sin against God to reward his failure with another term” given rising hunger and insecurity.

It also noted Amaechi’s recent political engagements, including consultations with Sen. Aminu Tambuwal, Abubakar Malami, Chief John Oyegun, and H.E. Emeka Ihedioha, which it said had generated “massive accolades from Nigerians, especially the youths.”

“As Speaker, Governor of Rivers State, and Minister, he delivered in all the assignments given to him. So seeing his recent moves is only a display of who he is,” the statement added.

“As your brothers and a grassroots group committed to you and Atiku’s electoral success in 2027, we promise to walk, campaign, and sweat with you from LGA to LGA, state to state, with the Presidential Campaign Council, to ensure the Atiku/Amechi ticket is victorious,” it said.

“Being the umbrella body for the above mentioned body that cut across the entire south South zone comprises phase 1,2 and 3 at our emergency key leadership meeting held yesterday 03/07/2026 in the CREEK of Bomadi Town Delta State under our national chairman, Gen.Ojuemi Oweikeme to appraise situation of things in the country vis a vis bad economy,insecurity and lack of infrastructure.

“Our big thank you goes to our daddy and candidate of our great party, His Excellency and by God’s grace the incoming president of Nigeria,Atiku Excellency and National working committee members under the Solomonic leadership of Senator David Mark in their wise wisdom to find worthy our leader, brother and illustrious son of our region,His Excellency Rotimi Amechi to be a running mate.
