A promising student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Nwankwo Chukwuebuka Chrisantus, popularly known as DJ Brownlex, has died in a tragic road accident while traveling to Afrobeats star Davido’s concert in Enugu.

The fatal crash occurred on the Enugu–Onitsha Expressway on Saturday night. DJ Brownlex, a 300-level student from the Department of Economics and Political Science, was in the company of two classmates heading to the concert when their vehicle reportedly lost control and rammed into a stationary truck.

Eyewitnesses said Brownlex died instantly, while the other two occupants—Okezie Ikesianachi (KEH DOG) and Arinze Emmanuel (Legit DOS) sustained severe injuries. Both are currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital and are said to be in critical but stable condition.

Described as a talented and energetic campus DJ with a magnetic personality, DJ Brownlex was well-loved within the UNN community.

In a statement shared on the department’s WhatsApp platform, Osim Philip, President of the National Economics Students’ Association (NESA), expressed deep sorrow over the incident, describing Brownlex’s death as a painful loss to the student body.
