By Diafa Doubra,
Nigerian music star Burna Boy has revealed that he converted from Christianity to Islam, but admitted he is still exploring his spiritual journey.
In a recent interview, the Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, said his decision to embrace Islam stemmed from a personal search for truth and peace rather than public pressure. He explained that while he now identifies as a Muslim, he continues to reflect deeply on faith, spirituality, and his connection with God.
“I converted because I found peace in Islam,” Burna Boy said. “But I’m still learning and trying to understand myself better spiritually. It’s a personal journey, and I’m not in a hurry to label it.”
The singer, known for hits like Last Last and City Boys, also urged fans to respect people’s personal beliefs and spiritual choices. His revelation has sparked widespread discussions on social media, with many commending his honesty and openness about faith.
