By Monday Peters, Abuja
Prominent Ijaw leader Chief Ebis Moni has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for approving the construction of the Torugbbe-Ojobo road in the 2026 budget.
Moni also acknowledged the crucial roles played by Rt. Hon. Solomon Funkekeme and the Ojobo Development Forum for pressuring the governor to include the project in the budget.
Moni revealed that he was among those who had previously expressed disappointment over the delay in approving the road project, but expressed gratitude that the governor has finally listened to the demands of the Torognene/Ojobo people. “There is a need to thank him for listening to the demand of Torogbene/Ojobo people,” Moni said.
He extended his appreciation to everyone who contributed to the approval of the road project and appealed to Governor Oborevwori to release funds timely to the contractor handling the job to expedite the project.
Congress learnt that the approval of the Torugbbe-Ojobo road project had been welcomed by the people of the area, who have long been advocating for the construction of the road to improve connectivity and access to the upland.
