By Adamu Aliyu Ngulde
The Borno State community on Friday marked the retirement of Assistant Commissioner of Police Ibrahim O. Mohammed, widely known as OC CRACK, whose formal departure from the Nigeria Police Force takes effect on Feb. 1, 2026.
The retirement ceremony, held at Pinnacle Apartment in Maiduguri, drew senior police officers, heads of security agencies, government officials, traditional and religious leaders, and representatives of community groups, reflecting Mr. Mohammed’s long service in the state.
Speakers at the event described him as a disciplined and resolute officer who combined firm law enforcement with community engagement during his years in active service.
Mr. Mohammed was particularly commended for his role in counterinsurgency operations in northeastern Nigeria, where he led police units involved in operations that helped restore access to communities displaced by years of militant violence.
The Commissioner of Police in Borno State, Naziru Abdulmajid, said the gathering was an expression of public appreciation for an officer whose work contributed to improved security and strengthened relations between the police and local communities.
