The Yobe State Government has deployed 237 teachers and school principals to Kaduna for intensive capacity-building training as part of its ongoing education reform agenda.

The Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa Shehu, disclosed this during a send-off ceremony held at the Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office in Damaturu.

The Head of Service said the initiative is a strategic step towards strengthening the quality of teaching and leadership in schools across the state.

The participants comprise 158 teachers and mentors, as well as 79 senior secondary school principals drawn from key education agencies, including the State Universal Basic Education Board, Teaching Service Board, and the Science and Technical Education Board.

He noted that the deployment is part of deliberate reforms aimed at addressing manpower gaps and improving service delivery in the education sector.

Speaking on the importance of the training, the Focal Person on Training and Succession Planning, Ibrahim Bulama Yusuf, emphasised that effective school leadership and modern teaching methods are critical to achieving quality education outcomes.

He explained that the programme, to be conducted at the National Teachers Institute (NTI), Kaduna, will expose participants to advanced pedagogy, innovation, as well as science and technology-driven teaching approaches.
