BREAKING: Group Threatens Forensic Audit, Demands Transparency From Isoko LGA Chairmen
By Monday Peters, Abuja
A group, Concerned Sons and Daughters of Isoko Kingdom for Good Governance, has called on Hon. Godwin Ogorugba, Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State, to channel the ₦15.7 billion 2026 budget toward road projects as the rainy season approaches.
In a statement on Monday, April 14, 2026, signed by its Coordinator, Gen. Omogha Wilson Ajiri, the group raised serious concern over the deplorable state of roads across Isoko Kingdom. It urged the council chairman to utilize the ₦15.7 billion transparently and prioritize road construction and rehabilitation before the peak of the rains, to avert economic hardship in the area.
“The rains are fast approaching. If these roads are not fixed now, our farmers, traders, and commuters will suffer avoidable losses. The council must act with urgency,” the statement read.
The group warned that failure to execute tangible projects with the ₦15.7 billion by the end of the 2026 fiscal year would compel it to petition the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). It said it would demand a forensic audit of Isoko North and Isoko South Local Government Areas of Delta State.
“We insist on transparency and accountability. Every kobo must be accounted for. If there are no visible road projects by December, we will invite anti-graft agencies,” Ajiri stated.
The group also urged the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, to fast-track development in Isoko Kingdom, saying the people feel marginalized and sidelined by his administration. It called for increased state intervention in critical infrastructure, especially roads, schools, and healthcare.
The Concerned Sons and Daughters of Isoko Kingdom for Good Governance said it would continue to monitor budget implementation across the two Isoko LGAs and provide regular updates to the public.
Efforts to reach Hon. Godwin Ogorugba for comments were unsuccessful as of press time.
