Retired senior officers from Nigeria’s paramilitary services have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving a lifetime salary structure for top-ranking personnel.

In a statement, the Special Adviser on Media to the Minister of Interior, Babatunde Alao, says the retirees paid a courtesy visit to the Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in Abuja to express their appreciation.

The delegation, led by former Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Chukwura Udeh, describes the approval as a long-awaited intervention that addresses welfare concerns of retired officers.

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, commends the retirees for their service, noting that the welfare of personnel remains a priority of the Federal Government.

The statement notes that ongoing reforms, including clearing promotion backlogs, are aimed at improving morale and career progression across the paramilitary services.
