Delta CP Strengthens Security Ties with FRSC, NSCDC Through Strategic Visits
By Chukwunonso Eric, Warri.
In a move aimed at reinforcing inter-agency collaboration and bolstering the security framework in Delta State, the Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, has paid courtesy visits to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The visits, which form part of the Command’s broader engagement strategy, were conducted alongside members of the police management team to strengthen synergy among key security agencies in the state.
At the NSCDC State Command headquarters, the CP was received by the State Commandant, Chinedu Fabian Igbo. During the interaction, Oyeniyi emphasized the importance of collaboration in modern policing, noting that effective security operations rely heavily on intelligence sharing, mutual respect, and coordinated efforts.
He commended the existing working relationship between the Police and the NSCDC, particularly in safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure, while calling for sustained cooperation in tackling emerging security challenges across Delta State.
In a similar visit to the FRSC Sector Command (Sector 5.2), the CP was received by the Sector Commander, Charles Eyo Edem. He praised the Corps for its consistent efforts in road safety management and its role in reducing traffic-related incidents across the state.
The Police Commissioner highlighted the need for closer collaboration between the Police and FRSC, especially in ensuring safety along major highways, stressing that continuous information exchange and operational support are vital to achieving this goal.
Oyeniyi reiterated that no single security agency can effectively address the complexities of modern security challenges in isolation, describing inter-agency synergy as the cornerstone of successful policing.
He assured both the NSCDC and FRSC of the Police Command’s readiness to deepen existing partnerships and explore new avenues of cooperation, particularly in crime prevention, emergency response, and public awareness initiatives.
The visits underscore a renewed commitment by security stakeholders in Delta State to work collectively in safeguarding lives and property, while promoting a unified approach to addressing security concerns.
