Troops Rescue Kidnapped Victim, Recover Ransom In Plateau

Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE deployed in Sector 9 Shendam, in plateau state, have rescued a kidnapped victim and recovered 8 million naira ransom earlier paid by the family.

A statement by the Media Information Officer Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE, Captain CHINONSO POLYCARP OTEH says the rescue operation was initiated following the abduction of a female victim from the Bauna area of Shendam Local Government Area on 19 April 2026.

Through intelligence gathering and interrogation of arrested suspect who confessed to the crime, troops were able to identify the victim’s location at Padam Forest in Quanpan Local Government Area, where she was rescued.

The recovered ransom has been returned to the family of the victim.
