Tinubu 2027: Niger Delta Supporters Inaugurate State Coordinators, Begin Grassroots Mobilisation
By Chukwunonso Eric, Warri.
ABUJA — Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Niger Delta Accredited Supporters for Tinubu 2027 has inaugurated state coordinators as part of efforts to strengthen its grassroots mobilisation and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the National Merit Award House in Abuja, brought together political leaders, newly appointed state coordinators, media representatives and other stakeholders from the Niger Delta and other parts of the country.
Speaking at the event, the National Coordinator of the group, Hon. Joseph Ebodei, charged the newly inaugurated coordinators to build effective grassroots structures across states, local government areas, wards and communities.
Ebodei said the group’s support for President Tinubu should extend beyond political mobilisation, urging members to engage citizens with facts and explain the impact of government policies and programmes on their daily lives.
He said the group’s backing of the President was rooted in its belief in the Renewed Hope Agenda and its aspiration for a stronger, more prosperous and united Nigeria.
The National Coordinator also urged the coordinators to establish transparent, people-oriented and responsive structures that would identify community challenges and contribute positively to development.
He cautioned members against misinformation, stressing the need for responsible political communication and respectful engagement with Nigerians as the 2027 elections approach.
“Leadership is not about title. Leadership is about service, sacrifice, accountability, and result,” Ebodei said.
He added that the organisation would work across the Niger Delta and other parts of the country to promote unity and peaceful political engagement ahead of the elections.
The organisation also announced the appointment of governors in Niger Delta states as senior patrons, describing the move as part of efforts to strengthen its regional structure and coordinate its activities.
Grassroots Campaign
Veteran Nollywood actor Hank Anuku, who also spoke at the event, urged Nigerians to support President Tinubu, describing him as a leader who, in his view, is committed to the country.
Anuku called on members of the organisation to take their message to the grassroots and educate citizens on the importance of participating in the electoral process.
He further appealed for national unity and collective efforts towards building a country capable of creating greater opportunities and improving the wellbeing of its citizens.
The National Secretary of the organisation, Hon. Dennis Ariaga, said the group had developed an operational structure stretching from the national level to states, local government areas, wards and polling units.
According to Ariaga, the structure would enable the organisation to effectively mobilise support for President Tinubu while taking information about the administration’s policies and programmes directly to communities.
He described the inauguration as the beginning of the organisation’s full operational activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
