BREAKING: Barr Torke Ekpetun Declares for Ekeremor Constituency III Seat Ahead of 2027
By Monday Peters, Abuja
Prominent legal practitioner Barrister Torke Johnson Ekpetun has officially declared his intention to contest for the Bayelsa State House of Assembly seat representing Ekeremor Constituency III in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement released on May 5, 2026, Ekpetun said his decision was driven by the need for “visionary and revolutionary representation” that prioritizes the people of Ekeremor.
“I am stepping forward to offer a new kind of leadership—one rooted in accountability, youth empowerment, and sustainable development for our communities,” he stated.
The legal practitioner and community advocate pledged to focus on infrastructure, education, and economic opportunities for youths when elected. He also called for unity among constituents ahead of the polls.
Political observers say Ekpetun’s entry is expected to reshape the race for the Ekeremor III seat, which has seen growing calls for fresh leadership.
Further consultations with stakeholders across the constituency are underway, according to his campaign team.
