The Delta State Police Command has urged residents to make use of official police emergency lines and divisional contacts during emergencies rather than relying solely on personal contacts of police officers.

In a security advisory issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, the Command noted that members of the public often complain of a lack of response after calling police officers they personally know, especially during late-night emergencies when such officers may be off duty or unavailable.

According to the statement, individuals facing distress situations should ensure they have access to the Police Command’s control room emergency numbers and the contact details of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) within their area.

The Command emphasized that the most effective and reliable channels for emergency response remain the official control room lines, which are specifically designated to receive and coordinate urgent security reports around the clock.

To enhance public safety and improve response times, residents of Delta State were advised to save the following Delta State Police Command emergency numbers:

  • 08036684974
  • 08114895600
  • 08025666914

The police reiterated the importance of prompt reporting through the appropriate channels, stressing that timely communication with the Command’s control room can significantly aid emergency response efforts and crime prevention across the state.

SP Edafe Bright encouraged members of the public to remain security conscious and cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting suspicious activities and emergencies through the designated emergency lines.
