NDYFGG, IPDI Debunk Allegations of Illegal Detention, Murder Against Tompolo, Otuaro, Tantita

The Niger Delta Youth For Good Governance, NDYFGG and the Ijaw Peoples Development Initiative, IPDI has condemned what it described as “baseless and malicious” allegations of illegal detention, kidnapping, torture, and murder leveled against High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo Dr. Dennis Burtu Otuaro, PhD, PAP Administrator and Tantita Security Services Limited.

In a joint statement released to journalists in Abuja, Comrade Ozobo Austin National president IPDI, and NDYFGG National President, Comr. Lucky O.O Ukueku, who is also the pioneer National President of PAP Scholarship Students Worldwide, said the claims made by Mr. Jude Gbabojor and Comr. Daniel Ezekiel in a viral open letter were aimed at tarnishing the reputation of Niger Delta leaders who have contributed to regional development.

Comr. Ukueku accused the two individuals of making it a habit to blackmail leaders in the media, particularly Tompolo, Dr. Otuaro, and Tantita, because they are not direct beneficiaries of certain programs and contracts.

“They are not the only youths in the Niger Delta. We are glad that most people in the region do not take their accusations seriously,” he said.
He added that while the region has both good and bad leaders, NDYFGG will not allow those genuinely working for development to be constantly attacked.

The NDYFGG President noted that the Niger Delta struggle has produced tangible results, with many youths gaining university admission through PAP and NDDC scholarships, and with visible development projects across the region.

Speaking as a beneficiary of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and former Camp Leader, Ukueku said that despite not benefiting from Tantita or NDDC contracts, he would not join in abusing leaders who are working for the region.

He also aligned with a position earlier issued by the Ijaw Peoples Development Initiative, IPDI, In a statement on 25th July 2026 signed by IPDI National President, Comr. Ozobo Austin_, the group described the allegations as “false, malicious, defamatory and politically motivated.”

IPDI stated that Tompolo does not own or operate any private detention facility in Oporoza or elsewhere, and emphasized that arrest and prosecution are solely the responsibility of the Nigeria Police, DSS, NSCDC and the courts. The group further defended Tantita, saying the company operates under a Federal Government and NNPC contract to protect oil and gas assets.

Ukueku called on the families and associates of Gbabojor and Ezekiel to caution them, and urged them to focus on improving their lives rather than depending on PAP and Tantita.

He warned that NDYFGG will not remain silent while well-meaning Niger Delta leaders are dragged through “false and defamatory publications.”
