I’m Correcting The Mistakes Of Past Administration — President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has said his administration is addressing the accumulated mistakes and missed opportunities of previous governments while urging Nigerians to remain hopeful about the country’s future.

Tinubu spoke through the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, during a special prayer session held at the National Mosque in Abuja to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

Reflecting on the country’s journey since independence, Tinubu described the 66th anniversary as a sign that Nigeria had attained maturity, although the nation’s journey had been a mixed one.

He acknowledged that Nigeria had faced numerous challenges over the years while also experiencing various opportunities, expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah for preserving the country and allowing citizens to witness the historic anniversary.

“My message to the country on behalf of the Mr president, the senate president and all members of the national assembly is that the citizens should not lose hope. Peace is coming back to this country. Development is coming back to this country. Things will get better as we progress in this democracy,” he said.

Tinubu said the government was focused on addressing the problems inherited from previous administrations.

“More importantly, citizens should look at the focus of the government of today, that the mistakes of the past—the cumulative mistakes and the missed opportunities of the past are being corrected in this particular administration,” he stated.

The President further assured Nigerians that the country was moving in the right direction, saying, “And I want to categorically make it clear that Nigeria is on the right path; that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and that Nigerians have finished making sacrifices for this country to be great again.”

He then appealed to Nigerians to give his administration additional time to complete its agenda.

“We should give this government more opportunity for it to come back and finish the good work,” Tinubu said.
