By Chukwunonso Eric, Warri.
The National Chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Ambassador Dr. Godknows Boladei Igali, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan.
In a condolence letter dated October 19, 2026, addressed to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Igali described the death of the former governor as a painful loss to Delta State, the Niger Delta and Nigeria.
Igali recalled his close relationship with Uduaghan, noting that both men served simultaneously as Secretaries to their respective state governments and maintained a cordial relationship until the former governor’s death.
According to him, Uduaghan was an exceptional public servant whose commitment to the people of Delta State remained unwavering. He particularly highlighted the former governor’s contributions, first as Secretary to the State Government and later as Governor, toward promoting peace and stability in the Niger Delta during a period of heightened militancy in the region.
The PANDEF chairman said Uduaghan’s death was not only a loss to his immediate family and Delta State but also to the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large.
He prayed that the legacy the former governor left through his service to God and humanity would endure, while extending his deepest condolences to the Uduaghan family and the people of Delta State.
Igali concluded his message by praying for the eternal repose of the former governor’s soul, quoting Philippians 4:7 in a message of faith and consolation.
