Nigeria is strengthening its Ebola response, with intensified screening at entry points into the Federal Capital Territory and heightened vigilance across health facilities to detect and contain suspected cases.

At a ministerial press briefing, authorities also highlighted genetic findings linking the viruses, while stressing that further investigations are needed to establish whether the cases are epidemiologically related.

On the genetic findings, the Federal Government says the viruses are genetically related. However, further investigations are required to determine whether the cases are directly linked.

As Nigeria reinforces its response, early detection, health facility vigilance and public cooperation remain critical to preventing further transmission.

The public is urged to remain calm, follow verified health advisories and promptly report suspected symptoms or possible exposure.
