Court sentences 56-year-old man for defiling minor in Delta

A Magistrate Court sitting in Osubi, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State has sentenced a fifty-six-year-old man identified as Collins to prison in Sapele over the alleged defilement of a minor.

The offense was allegedly committed in early 2023 at the jurisdiction of the court.

The suspect was arrested in a hotel at Osubi Community in his attempt to bribe a human rights activist to close the case for him.

It was gathered a medical report from the police had confirmed that the 10-year-old girl (name withheld) was actually defiled by the suspect.

According to the report, the victim’s hymen was broken.It recommended that the girl be treated for infections.
