Twist as CBN Orders Banks to receive deposit of old N500, N1000 Notes

The Central Bank of Nigeria has ordered commercial banks to receive deposit of old N500 and N1,000 notes from the public following the public outcry.Meanwhile, the CBN pegged the maximum amount of deposit at N500,000 daily. The order was to be implemented in immediate effect.The apex bank explained that the old currencies were no more legal tender but will be accepted by banks.However, the new directive is as a result of difficulties citizens encountered in a bid to get access to the apex bank to deposit the old notes.
