Popular radio station razed down in Delta

Pandemonium as fire razed Rize FM 106.7 radio station in Warri, Delta State on Thursday.

The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Thursday.

The incident has been confirmed by the management of the station.

In a statement signed by the head of operation, Laju Lawal, said the fire emanated on Thursday morning October 14.

According to him, the inferno destroyed equipment worth over N250 million as the entire building was badly affected.

Lawal stated: “The inferno razed down the entire top floor of the building housing all three studios of the organization, the transmitting room, all broadcasting equipment, the news and current affairs departments, all computer systems and other major offices and properties of the organization estimated at over N250m.”

However, the management of Rize FM appreciated the Shell and Delta State Fire Services as well as residents for their swift response.
