Abia: Obi Condemns Killing of Soldiers, Describes It As Endemic State Failure

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has strongly condemned the killing of five soldiers in Abia State, describing it as a stark reminder of Nigeria’s escalating insecurity and violence.
Obi expressed his condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers, Governor Alex Otti, and the people of Abia State.
He emphasised that the nation’s failure to protect its citizens and security personnel is a clear dereliction of duty and a sign of the Nigerian state’s deficiency.
Obi demanded a thorough investigation to identify and punish the perpetrators, stressing that swift and decisive action is needed to address the continued brutality and bloodshed, rather than mere words and promises.
He reiterated his commitment to pushing for a better future where citizens and security forces are protected and valued
