Again, gas leakage discovered in Bayelsa

A fresh leakage of a gas pipeline belonging to the Nigerian Agip Oil Company and the Shell Development Company of Nigeria Limited has been discovered in Bayelsa State on Tuesday.

It was learnt that the leakage occurred along the Bayelsa Palm-New Otuoke Road near Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

A source claimed that the erupted gas facility belonged to the NAOC.

It was reported that a huge volume of gas had been emitted into the atmosphere since 11 pm on Monday.

However, newsmen who visited the scene observed that the erupted pipeline was releasing gas at very high pressure, which could be heard from 300 meters away.

Our sources said the incident had sent great fear into the residents as it could explode into a huge fire.
