Tension heightens as Ogbe-Ijoh community raises alarm over another unprovoked and unwarranted attack on the community by suspected Aladja militants on Wednesday.

A community source told Congress news correspondent that the suspected Aladja militants stormed the Ogbe-Ijoh community at about 5:am on Wednesday and shot sporadically and escaped to the moon.

The source said many residents in the community narrowly escaped being shot as they scampered for safety, this is coming on the heels of similar attacks in the penultimate week on the community.

The statement explained that some of the shells of the bullets expended by the attackers were recovered by the police on peacekeeping in the area.

The community narrated that there would be a possible breakdown of law and order if the unprovoked and unwarranted attacks on the community persists.

Meanwhile, a resident of the Aladja community who pleaded anonymity said Aladja people didn’t attack Ogbe-Ijoh, adding that the two communities are living in peace.

However, efforts to reach the State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe for comment on the incident proved abortive.
