Agents’ lists for Imo, Bayelsa, Kogi guber polls must be ready Oct 10— INEC tells political parties

Following the November 11 governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi states, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has urged political parties to submit lists of agents.

The Commission reportedly abandoned its October 10 deadline for the submission of the agent list, insisting that there would be no further extension after November 10.

National Commissioner and Chair of man of the Information and Voters Committee, Sam Olumekun, who gave an assertion yesterday, likewise lamented the weakness in the land.

“INEC sincerely requests to every single Political party and Candidates to keep away from expressions and acts that might warm up the commonwealth. The commission will proceed to intently screen what is going on and support its commitment with security organizations and partners to guarantee tranquil direct of decisions in the three states,” he expressed.

Olumekun said with under 72 hours to cutoff time, just 55% of agents had been transferred on the appointive umpire’s Portal by Political parties for the election, since the commercial on August 24.

He said: “For Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi, just 55% of the normal absolute of 189,180 surveying unit agents have been transferred to the assigned INEC Portal.

“In particular, 29,278 out of the normal 40,372 (72.5 per cent) for Bayelsa; 51,681 out of 85,644 (60.3 per cent) for Imo; and 23,720 out of 63,144 (37.6 per cent) for Kogi State; have been transferred.

“Also, just 25.1 per cent of the normal 15,804 examination agents in the three states have been transferred: 1,246 (26.0 per cent) out of 4,806 for Bayelsa; 1,638 (27.3 per cent) out of 5,994 for Imo, and 1,095 (21.9 per cent) out of 5,004 for Kogi.

“The commission, thus, wishes to additionally remind Political parties that the Portal will naturally close down at 12 p.m on Tuesday, October 10.

“There will be no augmentation. Thus, all Parties, supporting Candidates for the election that are yet to transfer the list of their representatives, ought to do as such in short order for the activity.”
