The leadership of the Third Phase Amnesty Delegates Forum has commended the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, PhD, for his efforts to bridge gaps in journalism across the Niger Delta region.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Forum’s chairman, General Godstime Ogidigba described Dr. Otuaro’s initiative to sponsor over about 15 Niger Delta journalists for professional studies abroad as a “landmark achievement” for the Ijaw Nation, the wider Niger Delta, and the current PAP administration.

The group said the reforms are raising the capacity of local journalists in the region to meet international standards, noting that this will help address long-standing challenges facing the media in the Niger Delta.

“We call on Niger Deltans, irrespective of ethnic group, tribe, or religion, to continue to support the reforms of Chief Dennis Otuaro,” the statement read. “His programmes are designed to deliver more dividends and benefits of the Amnesty Programme for the good of all. United we stand, divided we fall.” Ogidigba added.
