Angry indigenes of host communities to Chevron Nigeria limited (CNL) in Egbema kingdom and Itsekiri communities in Warri North local Government Area of Delta State have protested over failure of Chevron (CNL) to carry out their last agreed corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects in the area.

The protesting communities, the Dinkoru Ijaw community and Itsekiri communities in the area have occupied the Chevron facilities at the Alero Oil field since on 30th November, 2022, and had continued till today 8th December, 2022.

However, the protesting residents vowed to seize the facility till the company attend to their demands.

A youth leader, Comrade Nelson Ogbinbiri on behalf of the Dinkoru host community, said Chevron had neglected Dinkoru Ijaw community and their neighboring Itsekiri communities in its operation.

He said the company failed to honour agreement reached to pay royalty to them and provide electricity, water and other projects after four months of their earlier protest.
