Anxiety as abductors kill DELSU lecturer, Idamoyibo after ransom payment

Tension heightened in Abraka , the University community as the abducted lecturer of Music Department Professor Ovaborhene Idamoyibo was found dead after ransom been paid.

A lecturer in the school who pleaded on the condition of annomity told Congress correspondent that the lecturer was found dead after three million naira ransom was paid to get him freed.

The source said the abductors might have possibly killed him before the ransom was paid or he might have died as result of bullet injury possibly sustained during the shooting at the time he was kidnapped.

It was learnt the body of the deceased lecturer was found dead by family members after a tip-off by passerbys sequel to the ransom payment.

It would be recalled that slain Head of Music Department, Prof. Ovaborhene Idamoyibo was abducted on April 9, 2022 at Eku junction in Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State.

The source also said the kidnappers earlier demand the sum of Fifty million naira but it was later reduced to three million which was paid by the family before he was slain.

Meantime, effort to reach the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe for comment was not successful.
