Appoint Delta Ijaw As Amnesty Coordinator -N’Delta Youth Leaders Write Tinubu

The members of the Ijaw Youth Leaders of Thought, IYLT,, from the core Niger Delta states after serious deliberation have called on President Tinubu to appoint Delta Ijaw as substantive Amnesty Co-ordinator for equity and justice.

This is according to a statement co-signed by Jackson Agbor, Chairman Ijaw Youth Leaders Of Thought, Moses Omare, Secretary General, and thirteen others on Thursday.

According to the statement, the proclamation of Amnesty Programme on the 25th June 2009, by late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua for Niger Delta ex agitators to lay down their arms cumulated in the setting up of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

It was revealed that since the establishment, no Delta Ijaw had occupied the office as coordinator.

The Chairman Ijaw Youth Leaders of Thought, Jackson, stressed that it was turn of Delta Ijaw to produce the next amnesty coordinator for the presidential amnesty programme, for equity and justice, to reshape the programme for the best of all Niger Deltans youths.

The Delta Ijaws stakeholders demonstrated their unwavering commitments to evolving a holistic solutions to the problems of the Niger Delta by securing the region for growth and development.

The statement noted that Bayelsa, Ondo, and Rivers states had produced coordinator in the record since 2009.

However, the stakeholders called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint Delta Ijaw son to head the office for the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
