The mega 5days Ayakoromo community annual convention which started since December 24, 2021 has ended as leaders and indigenes in diaspora who trooped into the community to grace the event called on governor Ifeanyi Okowa to release fund for the speedy completion of the Ayakoromo bridge project. The call was unanimously made by the community during the 5days convention, having considered the difficulties in accessing the area, coupled with the political and economic importance of the area. The event was fully graced by well meaning indigenes of the community. The convention is annual gathering, a medium to embrace one another and to discuss issues of great importance to the community. It was learnt that several papers were presented at the convention by concerned indigenes of the community.Congress reports that a review of the community’s constitution was unanimously approved and endorsed by the convention. It was noted that a 7-man committee was immediately constituted by the convention to review the community’s constitution which comprises of two youths, two men, two women and one legal practitioner. However, the convention failed to consider the membership of the traditional council, the civil society and the political class in the review of the community’s constitution and this may create some disputes in the constitution amendments process as such interests may want a sense of belonging.
