Bandits abduct business woman in Akwa Ibom
A business woman identified as Mrs Uduak Akpan has been kidnapped by suspected gunmen in Akwa-ibom state.
Congress learnt that the Kidnapped woman resides in Ata Idung Afaha Eket In Eket Local government of Akwa Ibom state
According to a close source, the incident occurred at about 9:00pm in her husband’s shop, located at Umaco shopping center, Ata Idung Afaha Eket.
The source said, the gunmen numbering up to five stormed the shop and shot to the air sporadically before taking the victim away.
An eye witness narrated that the husband of the victim was helpless while the armed gunmen took his wife to unknown destination.
It could be recalled that Mr Akapn, the victim husband residence was robbed by hoodlums in early 2022.
Reacting to the incident, Sp Odiko MacDon, the state Police Public Relations Officer said he would not comment on the matter because he had not received any report from the Ikot Udota Divisional Police Station.
“I have not seen or heard such information. I don’t know if they have reported the matter to the command, I can’t comment because I don’t have such information” he noted.
