Bauchi Assembly to work with LGA for effective services delivery- Committee chairman

Bauchi State House of Assembly has pledged to work with the Local Government Council on strengthening local government accountability for improved service delivery at the grassroots level.

Chairman House Committee on Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs Bala Abdullahi Dan made the pledge when he led members of the committee to an oversight tour to Toro and Bauchi local council secretariats .

Honorable. Bala Abdullahi Dan noted that the visit sought to facilitate partnership and strengthen both vertical and horizontal accountability towards improving the quality of service delivery at the local government levels.

The House Committee Chairman restated his commitment and that of the Assembly to work with the local council in strengthening accountability towards improved quality of service delivery in the 20 local governments of Bauchi state.

While speaking, the caretaker committee chairman of Toro local government Alhaji Danlami Garba Abubakar assured that the council will redouble its efforts to ensure that a good working relationship is being sustained between them and the Legislative Arm.

On her part, the caretaker committee chairperson of Bauchi Local Government Hajiya Zainab Baba Takko extolled the role of the lawmakers in enacting laws and policies that take the state to a greater heights.

The committee has also paid a similar visit to the Emir of Bauchi Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu seeking for his blessings and advice towards discharging their responsibility.
